About Kevin

I am passionate about technology and education. My key areas of interest include Web Development & Design, Graphic Design, and Technical Writing.

I have immersed myself in the field of development, design, and tech for two decades. I love the creativity and artistic expression of design, the complexity and challenge of writing code, and the satisfaction of completing projects.

In my spare time, I enjoy learning new things and sharing my knowledge with others. I write extensive guides on assorted computing topics on my primary website, Kevin's Guides. I also produce video tutorials which are published freely on my  YouTube Channel.

I live and work out of Lancaster, PA.

Personal History

Here's a summary of what I've been up to these past few decades.

1990s

Born

I was born and raised in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. My childhood was fairly uneventful. We had a yellow lab named Sandy and I determined that dogs are the greatest thing ever. Like many children, I had a very active imagination. I enjoyed arts and crafts. As part of the first generation to grow up with the internet, I was fascinated by technology.

2011

High School

I graduated from Spring-Ford Area High School in Royersford, PA in 2011. My favorite classes included Computer Science, Biology, and Graphic Design.

2012

YCP

I attended York College of Pennsylvania for one year as a Computer Science major. However, I stopped to take what turned into a decade-long gap year.

2013

2020

Phone Sales

I spent the better part of the next decade working as a wireless sales consultant for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. I excelled at customer service and was a reliable worker. However, I was never passionate about selling the service and found the work morally questionable.
I exited the retail industry at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

HACC & More

With more life experience, I decided I was ready to return to school. I began taking classes at Harrisburg Area Community College. By the end of 2023, I should have my associates degree in Web Design. I am scheduled to continue my computer science education at Oregon State University beginning next year.
